What to do? What to say? What a dilemma! September 2006

  Dear Nigel,

What has happened to Nigel's newsletters? He just did not get restarted after the summer break.

The summer break seems light years away now. The intensity of coming back to work, was like a pile of things had been left undone before going away demanding attention– actually many things had been started before the break which required action on the next steps immediatelay on return.

September is the beginning of a new school year: and, for me, it is like the beginning of a new year, especially from a business sense.

After the summer break, and a good dose of reflection, it is time to launch new projects, and pick up exisiting ones with new energy.

Have a break ...

Having a break (from the daily routines), with a change of environment, is great for getting a new perspective on your life. The greater the contrast the more likely the new perspective will be.

You will get insight as to what you want to do, or what you do not want to do. You may get new ideas as to how to go forward with your life.

I went into the summer break with the dilemma of what to do about writing these newsletters. On one side I love to write – it is always a surprise to me what I write! Just like painting: it is wonderful to watch what is being painted. On the other hand the reason the newsletter was started no longer exists.

These newsletters were started as fish soup (as one zen master put it) – a freebie to promote my coaching practice. Now this kind of promotion is no longer right for me, as my work has taken a different turn.

I am still active working with people and companies to realize their potential.

What to do? What to do? It is time to move on. This is the last newsletter. There it is done!

You can always find a question, which may prompt an answer, among the 50 or so newsletters and articles on the website www.nigelbuxton.com. You might want to bookmark that URL so that it stays with you (fish soup can hang around!); and so it is there for those moments when you want to find a new perspective.

A big thank you to all for your support and encouragement.

On a last final note:
"Don't let who you are now get in the way of who you can be".

And remember to keep in focus - "what do I really want".

May the force be with you.

With love,

nigel
